FAQ

  • Are the properties 'Autism friendly'?

No, we have a very broad criteria from Autism to Trauma, therefore our retreats are comfy home from home experiences. You can however take any extras to meet your child’s needs.

  • Do you have accessible accommodation?

Each round we will have different retreats available to gift, if we have an accessible break available we will state so in the information on our facebook posts and on the application form.

  • Why is there a 2 year no holiday criteria?

This part of the criteria has been devised after much research and consideration by the trustees, it is there to ensure that those most in need receive an opportunity for a break away.

  • When can i apply?

Our gifted staycations are offered in rounds, each round will have a number of funded breaks to apply for, the application rounds open 3 times a year, usually Spring, Autumn and Winter. We will post on our facebook group when the next round opens.

  • How often can we apply?

If you are successful you can re-apply after two years, or for a parent carer break every 3 months. For those NOT successful, we only have a certain number of breaks per round, you CAN apply for a break every round, there is no limit on applying.

  • Can friends/family visit?

No, our staycation retreats do NOT accept day/night visitors. This is for safety and fire regulations. Only those booked on will be allowed entry. If you accept visitors you will have to end your break early. These are the conditions of the site owners.

  • Is the accomodation funded?

We are happy to say ‘yes’ we fund the full cost of the accommodation. Everything else including, travel to and from the accommodation, food, drink etc is the responsibility of the recipient.

  • Do you cover travel costs?

Up to now the travel to and from the accommodation is not covered financially. Getting to and from the accommodation is the responsibility of the recipient, we hope as we grow this may change in the future.

  • Can i take Granny?

Each gifted staycation states the guest limit. We understand that it can be helpful to have a family member come along to help. As long as you stick to the guest limit, who goes with your child is up to you.
